Vegas babies

We survived our first trip to Las Vegas! We went to watch our niece Alyssa graduate from high school. Quite an accomplishment and we are very proud. The girls did great. We saw the flamingos and fish at our hotel and we also saw the gardens in the Bellagio which Jordyn really liked. We also got to see family which was fun. Here are the girls peering out our window our first morning.

New stuff. Here are a few photos of the family over the past few months. We have been so busy! The first photo is of us at Lauren's alma mater, CSUN's 50th Anniversary celebration. Next, Jordyn got dressed up to water the plants with the prize she chose (the watering can) for going a whole week with no accidents. Go Jordyn! The third photo is Jordyn and Lauren at the Simi Valley Street Fair and Emergency Expo. It was our third year attending. Its a tradition!

Happy Easter

It finally dawned on us that we have a self-timer on our camera so we could get a family shot!
Easter was great. Jordyn had so much fun with all the Easter egg hunts.
We also got to go with Boppy and Grandma to a tour of a fire station in West LA. We had a great time, and have lots of photos, but here is one of Jordyn "driving" the truck.

Toddler Bed!

Jordyn has transitioned from crib to toddler bed this past weekend! She did great. We worried she might have a problem settling for nap times but she has gone to bed without any fussing or playing all weekend long. Our little girl is growing up, and we had a very hard time that first night.
She just amazes us with the things she does. She counts, can spell her name, and knows the city and state where she lives. Amazing.
The girls are beginning to interact even more and they absolutely love each other. Jordyn is still working on being gentle to her sister but she is getting better.

Sea World

We took the girls to Sea World for the first time last weekend. Aside from a run-in with the terrible twos (ahem, Jordyn, ahem) we had a great time. The girls just loved everything and they were great while we were at the park. Jordyn loved the sea lions, she even tried to mimic their "barking". After the sea lions, a parade of flamingos went past right there on the walkway. We also saw dolphins, manatees, penguins, and the Clydesdale horses. Lots of fun!

Tea Party

The four of us had a tea party with Jordyn's tea set the other day. Jordyn handled pouring the tea and made sure we were properly dressed, hats and all.

Christmas Time

We have had a bit of a difficult time getting a great photo of both girls. Below is our first attempt at holiday card pictures - we don't want to show the one we ended up with. Things have been so crazy, we have only put up the tree with lights on it. We don't think we will actually decorate it this year, though, but the girls seem to be happy with it lit so that works for us. Aaron put the outside lights up as well, but beyond that, our decorations are still in their boxes in the garage! Lauren was a part of the behind-the-scenes at our church's annual Christmas program and that has kept us pretty busy, in addition to our regular routine and holiday season.

Jordyn had her first trip to Build a Bear with her Grandpa Fred (GrandpaOmat) and Oma this weekend. She had a great time making her bear. It reminds us of an '80's workout bear with pink pants and a sequin tank top. What a great time - thanks GrandpaOmat and Oma!



Also, Uncle Bryan came to visit for Thanksgiving. Here is Jordyn playing with Uncle Bryan.

Lauren's friends Jessica and Erick moved back to California from Colorado and shared Thanksgiving with us and the kids finally got to meet. Here is Jordyn playing with her new friends Summer and Jack.
